Affiliate Marketing is good alternative of Google Adsense. Because Adsense become more strict on their terms & conditions. Day by day Adsense earning goes down & many adsense publishers are affected with it. AdSense’s biggest enemy is Ad Blocker software. Ad Blocker or Ad Stopper blocks all Adsense ads on the page along with the other ads networks such as Chitika, Infolinks. Due to AdBlock our Adsense earning is also going down day by day & we can’t do anything because of Google Adsense T&C.
AdSense is not only which is blocked by AdBlocker. I checked and saw that, Ad Blocking software is also blocked our Affiliate banners & links. Many Affiliate publishers thinks that they placed affiliates banners on the sidebar & banner link is in HTML. So Adblock can’t block these HTML link. But that is not true. AdBlocker now are becoming smart & Ad Blocker easily detects all advertising placements & blocks them. That is big problem for those sites which are only depend on affiliate marketing.
How AdBlocker removes Affiliates Advertising banners?
Ad Blockers are free adblock addons & any one can install it in their web browsers. Ad Blocker addon has a list of servers, which are used to serve advertisements. such as Google Adword, Google: DCLK Bid Manager, Atlas Solutions, AdZerk, Adtech, OpenX, AdColt, AdZerk, Yahoo’s Right Media, Smart AdServer, AdRoll.com etc. When you open any website in your INTERNET browser, then web browser loads the website content from the different servers because some of website components are hosted on other server. Ablocker detects the server connection from the list of ad server & simply blocks them.
AdBlocker also knows your affiliate ads network name such as Rakuten Linkshare, CJ by Conversant, Amazon, Avangate, ebay Partner Newtork, ClickBank, ShareASale, FlexOffers, Revenue Wire, AvantLink, LinkConnector, Affiliate Window, oneNetworkDirect, AffiliateNetwork, affiliatefuture, AdMedia, Tradedoubler, Webgains, Impact Radius, Valuleads. If you put a banner on your website, So Ad Blocker also detects the source link of banners & Adblocker blocking all or most ads. Ad network and server list is updated from time to time. Therefore Adblocking Software (such as Ad blocker, Adblock Plus, Adblock Edge, Ad Killer, Adguard AdBlocker.) blocks your affiliate banners.
How Ad Blocker blocks the Affiliate banner?
As I explained above AdBlocker detects the source link of banner & blocks it. When we join a company through their affiliate marketing program. After joining they explain several ways to promote their products. Such as banners, links, video, email and more. They give us code for the banner or link ads etc. When we paste the code in the widget on our website. Then affiliate ads become visible. This code looks like this-
<a href="//www.bluehost.com/track/pramodyadav/Adblock" target="_blank">
<img border="0" src="//bluehost-cdn.com/media/partner/images/pramodyadav/300x250/bh-ppc-banners-dynamic-300x250.png">
And when we paste the code on the website then it looks like this-
Affiliate/Destination Link:- When someone clicks on the image. Then he/she goes on Affiliate landing page.
Image Source:- This is the link where from the image is loaded.
So Adblocker Detects the Image Source & Destination Source then it match in their ad network list. If they found that network name in their list then the URL & Image will be blocked.
How to prevent Ad Blocker from blocking Affiliates banner?
I’m using these three tricks-
- Host Image on your self hosted server.
- The Image dimension (300X250, 300_250 etc) should not be in the image name or URL
- Redirect to Affiliate links through your own URL. You can use any redirect URL plugin – Redirection, Quick Page/Post Redirect Plugin, Simple 301 Redirects. And also We use all redirect with recommended name eg-
You can also try refer, go, transfer.
Note: Make sure if you do redirect affiliate links through your site URL’s then block your affiliate site URL by your Robots.txt otherwise Search Engine will Crawl your affiliate links and you’ll face Google Panda penalties.
For Example I’m using recommended in my affiliates URL’s then i added this code in my Robots.txt –
So my all affiliates URL is blocked by robots.txt. & these types of URL will not be crawled by any search engines.
After Using above three tips now i have added a banner using this code-
<a target="_blank" href="http://www.bloggingglobal.com/recommended/siteground"><img src="http://www.bloggingglobal.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Siteground.jpg" alt="Webhosting."/>
Note: Simply replace your affiliate link & image link & alt text.
Now Adblocker can’t detect my Affiliate links & can’t remove the banners. This trick also work with affiliate link ads.
I hope this trick will work for you.
